We have categorized our medical products according to the MARCH scheme. This supports you in an emergency; however, the individual operational situation must be observed at all times. Massive hemorrhages are treated with the highest priority: triaging and immediate cessation using a “Body Check” and “Blood Sweep”. Control of the bleeding using pressure, tourniquet, wound packing, hemostatics, and pressure bandages before further measures are taken.
HUM provides the following products for this purpose:
- AEROfusion – Tourniquets: The FR19® Gen 2 Extremity Tourniquet is a specially designed tourniquet for stopping severe hemorrhages and preventing blood loss in injuries or amputations of most extremities, suitable for adults. Quick and effective application thanks to one-handed operation on any limb, fewer rotations required for hemorrhage control and a wide strap for more uniform pressure distribution. Featuring a double-sided, angled locking entry and a double-sided locking mechanism. Available from HUM as exclusive importer for Germany!
- AEROuse – Permanent Marker: Compact tactical marker for labeling tourniquets and other medical documentation such as patient tags. Together with the FR19® Gen 2 Extremity Tourniquet, it fits perfectly into the AEROcase® – TACbag Tourniquet Pouch as well as into every IFAK or medic bag. With practical clip attachment and mounting hook on the cap.
- AEROuse – Emergency Bandage: Sterile emergency bandage for single use, made of high-quality materials and easy to handle. Designed to ensure fast and reliable wound care and immediate haemostasis of severe bleeding. Universally applicable emergency dressing, especially for sensitive areas. Available in three sizes: 10 cm and 15 cm with pressure bar, suitable for e.g. arms or legs, as well as 20 cm without pressure bar with enlarged wound pad for e.g. abdomen or back (abdominal area)
- AEROuse – Hemostatics: The Axiostat® – Chitosan-based Haemostatic Wound Gauze, Typ Z-fold is a sterile wound gauze for the immediate control of moderate to severe haemorrhages in operational situations in which tourniquets or pressure bandages are insufficient – e.g. for gunshot, stab and amputation wounds. The Z-fold of the dressing as well as the active ingredient Chitosan enable fast and controlled wound packing, with flexible adaptation to any wound. For single use, additionally available as a Trainer Pack.
- AEROuse – Compressed Gauze: The sterile 6-ply gauze in Z-fold is a compressed, vacuum-packed gauze dressing which is easy to unfold. It is suitable for haemostasis through compression as a pressure bandage, for optimal fluid absorption or wound cleaning. For use in tactical medicine as well as in emergencies and first aid, suitable for single use.
